Winnie the Pooh Blood and honey is a surprisingly fun and well made film when you account for its budget. The fist and final act are the strongest parts of the film with the middle sometimes coming off as a good YouTube fan film. I enjoyed the film. The problems with the film all come from its budget but that is to be expected. The film opens with Christopher Robin and his wife returning to the Hundred acre wood so that CR can reunite with his childhood friends. When they arrive they find that they have become psycho killers and enraged by Christophers’ absence leading them to take revenge on all humans. We then are introduced to the lead female who’s name is Maria. She is a stalker victim and along with friends rents a cabin in the woods to disconnect and go on a mental health break. Maria’s acting is good with her friends being lackluster and dull. Cannon fire written in only to be killed. Maria at first believes Pooh and piglet are the stalker she was trying to get away from until she finds Christopher Robin and saves him from Poohs lair. CR explains very briefly to Maria who Pooh and piglet are and they are now somehow friends. I wish they added dialogue or scenes with the two together getting to know each other. The film ends with a scene of peril between Pooh, CH, and Maria which was very good but would have been beyond fantastic if they gave more companionship between CH and Maria. Winnie the Pooh feels very much like Michale Myers and piglet is more or less a side kick/goon to Pooh. The film does end with a promise of a sequel. The effects were gory and got the job done, and the music and sound effects were great, very well done. Overall I thought it was a lot of fun to see a beloved children’s character take the mantle of a killer on a rampage and would recommend a viewing if your looking for a quick thriller movie night.
