I thought this was superb. It was absolutely gripping in its portrayal of the devastating impact on those who suffered in the Magdelene laundries. I can understand irritation at the portrayal of the local police as bumbling idiots but I felt this skilfully symbolised the historical indifference of local authority to the terrible suffering of the women. The local sergeant saw his town as boring (and wanted to keep it that way) because it was without major crime and yet it had contained the horrors of the Magdelene laundries.
