My usual reads are crime, mystery and epionage novels, so venturing into the fantasy genre was a real deviation for me. I admit I struggled to start, but I warmed to the story and was soon immersed. The mixture of mystery and suspense, and the emotional highs and lows of the characters kept me riveted. I found myself wanting to dive straight into Book 2!
