As a ardent fan of Michael Crichton I had reservations about the 3rd installment of Jurassic Park. It could not be worse in storyline than 2... Could it? Turns out it was. All Joe Johnson did it seemed was go through the book and collect all the bits of action not used in the previous 2 films. Crichton himself never entertained the idea of a third book in the series. However, there are some gripping action scenes and the film holds up well. Just don't compare books which personally outstrip the films at every level.
