I am a massive fan of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games, they are the one game series that is set in Japan that I can play in Japanese and get lost in the world Back in 2023 Amazon prime announced that it was streaming a show by the same name and based on the games I was so excited when I found out, I was watching almost every trailer I could find on YouTube and from what I could see they had the main character of Kazuma Kiryu down pat I’ve been looking forward to watching Yakuza like a dragon and unfortunately it’s a massive let down The plot of the story is a mix of the first 2 games and they aren’t in order They have used the characters and a base outline of the games but then dumped the rest in the trash The intro even says based on the games Now I didnt expect a carbon copy of the games, but I did expect to get more background detail on certain characters and get some character development from characters that arent in the games a whole lot or even introduce characters that are only mentioned in passing in the game After watching the first episode I’m actually so mad because as a fan I’m astonished that Sega greenlit this crap Obviously they probably greenlit it to up there game sales I know the last of us is made by a completely different company and got turned into a successful tv show by a different company but that’s the kind of quality I was hoping for with Yakuza like a dragon 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND to fans of the games
