Clok-Roo, The Primordial

Neat little EP featuring some great B-side tracks, plus Pushing the Senses which is always amazing! I can't fault any of the songs here, as they are all great tracks and among some of the bands best - especially Bruised and the piano only version of Frequency - plus additional songs from earlier years such as the title track Feel It Again and Eclipse. That said, I am curious as to why the Pushing the Senses [single] B-sides were omitted when it's on the EP, and yet we have all of Feeling a Moment's B-sides but not the single itself. (Shatter and Victoria at least featured on the Japanese version of the full album, so it makes sense why they aren't here.) Regardless, despite the main album being similar in style/theme to Comfort in Sound - just using piano notes instead of string instruments - Feel It Again EP feels more like Feeder's early work with the mix of songs, but still keeping that theme they were playing with at the time. And honestly, I really like it! If all you want is a small collection of Feeder music from this era, this will hit that fix for sure!

For a first outing in the public, this EP is pretty much flawless! I mean, the exact lyrics of some of the songs might be considered non-PC by today's standards (Sweet 16 & Women In Towels; I'm looking at you), but don't hold that against this collection! The music is still awesome! And that's before we talk about the 2001 re-release which included 5 more songs from the time, turning it into a full-blown album in my eyes! The inclusion of World Asleep and the '97 version of Chicken on a Bone were great picks, but I am a little mixed on the other three. They're not bad, but they don't stand out compared to rest of the album/original EP. Pity they didn't include the '97 version of Pictures of Pain as well... As someone who grew up on Gran Turismo, I hold a lot of nostalgia for Sweet 16, Shade and Chicken on a Bone - with the latter two in my eyes among some of Feeder's best songs, even to this day! The base EP is where it's at, but I don't blame anyone for trying to get their hands on the 2001 re-release. This in my opinion is still one of the best releases from Feeder to date!

Only ever heard the songs individually, but I have recreated this album separately using bits and pieces from other albums. These B-sides are so underrated. They are some of my favourite songs from the Yesterday Went Too Soon period, such as Rubber Band, Living in Polaroid and Space Age Hero... plus, the better version of Paperfaces is here! Would have loved it if it also included Oxidize since that is such a good track, but oh well. The real shame is that it's exclusive to Japan, and currently there is no way to purchase Divebomb on iTunes. Regardless, if you're a fan of Feeder and/or the Yesterday Went Too Soon album, give this a listen! High recommendation!
