I did not want to put this book down. It's a very well written story about a piece of history that I surprisingly and yet not that surprised at all that I didn't know. Thanks history education system for keeping everything white bread and butter light....(not at all grateful) It amazed me that the main character made the decisions that she did. It shows the impact of such incredible actions. I found myself wanting to talk to Civil about it all. As good books do, it left me wondering and contemplating and wanting more.
