Dujardin is a man being forced out of his natural habitat by his wife, assumes the role of a narcissistic "urban hunter" who hunts and peels off jackets from people like hides for a trophy and unknowingly becomes a murderous filmmaker in the process. He is not obsessed with jackets, he is obsessed with the feeling he has with jackets.

The film assumes it understands what women are afraid of, glorifying their fears and romanticizing suffering. Harper has to resort to violence (knife) to gain empowerment and is always reacting to her abusers passive aggressively, if anything it is empowering men. She has to wait till all the men die out before she is gets closure. Can we feel the pain of women by watching men getting pregnant? No. Would love to see Julia Ducournau do a remake on this.

It wrestles with your expectations and keeps your anticipation in check, the film reminds how unhealthy our viewing habits are after years of consuming formulated junk. The film simply plays off naturally as if self conscious. It is minimalism at it's best and the last scene brought out something emotional, something I am yet to understand why but a strong emotion nonetheless that brought out unexpected tears.
