This book reads like a novel. Manchester provides coverage of major American history events from ‘32-‘72 but sprinkles great anecdotes throughout the book of cultural trends, fads, societal norms and changes etc. This book is especially relevant for people who may not normally read much history but want to dive into a history book that can provide great stories on the journey through 1000+ pages. I have read this book twice and love it each time.
