This game is more relevant than ever, given the meteoric rise of AI. The only thing our AI is missing is embodiment and intentionality, once those two are accomplished, we will essentially have androids. To think this game came out 6 years ago, and then, we were dreaming of what AI could be, what its limitations would be, how it would be different than us.
Taking the unique, predictive perspective that this title does, 20 years from 2018, its indeed interesting to see what we have already accomplished in 2024. In some ways, we have far exceeded the predictions, in others, we are behind. Either way, with the ever-growing relevance of AI, the narrative of this game is now more plausible and pertinent than when it first launched.
If you're reading this, and AI hasn't taken your job yet, you may want to give this game a shot.
I usually like action based, multiplayer, dopamine sink type games (think overwatch or COD), I hadn't played a single player title in the past four years, if you discount COD titles, 10 years. Through its various storylines, Detroit Become Human effectively creates the illusion of freely choosing your path in the narrative for each of the characters, each path with interesting and unique subtleties that add to the lore of the story.
No other game has left me feeling so compelled as to leave a review on Google, if that means anything.
