This series was beautiful, but every 10 minutes Morgan Freeman would say "the most significant event ever..." or something along those lines. I lost count after about 20 such claims. For example Dunkleosteus getting a mouth is not the most significant event ever. The episodes did a thorough job of going through the 5 major mass extinctions which each time destroyed about 85% or so of the creatures on Earth but then finishes by saying that the worst mass extinction is coming from humans. Global warming is bad (although we are making progress to curb it) but it is nothing like a giant meteor slamming into the Earth with the power of 10 billion atomic bombs. Not only is the claim that humans are causing the worst mass extinction scientifically false (we are definitely doing some damage.....but nothing even remotely close to any of the 5 great mass extinctions) but the series spends absolutely zero time discussing how humans came into existence. If you are going to spend hours covering the 5 great mass extinctions, I would think that some time should be spent discussing the 6th (and worst) and how the species causing it got to that place. If we are so bad, the story should at least cover our evolution IE how we got that way.
