The guy is acting like smart in this kind of situation, but it's all kind of stupid and not realistic. The other one is architect and don't even know if door he opening is safe or not?:) its kind of stupid derecting. They can climb in the elevator, but they only climb once and their purpose is also to go the bottom of the ship where the fastest way is to climb to the elevator not in the ventelation tube. The fire emergency water hose is near to the elevator they can use it as a rope. They want to get out and they only carry a flashlight, What about metaltube, flatbars anything that can help to open ventelation exit. It's like stupid people trying to get out, Those electrical controls, emergency buttons submerge in the water is not water proof or short circuit proof in the water, all engine should stop in the beginning because of the air filter etc.
