Being a fan of Woodie Allen, as well as of Paris and The French language, the movie delivered all these goodies in abundance. The language, the city and Woody’s irony, are all at its best. What would appear to be a rather banal extramarital love affair, turns into a thriller with a dark plot. The somewhat surprising ending is quite Woody Allen-asque, the characters are well defined and very well dressed, the Parisian exteriors and interiors are beautifully filmed, in short, the movie delivers on all levels, and was well worth watching. I’d give 5 stars, except for a certain psychological simplicity which made it less than great. But a very satisfying, very watchable entertainment.
