It wasn’t scary at all, and while RE games tend to reach with their stories, at least they weren’t quite this… fantastical? It felt so removed from umbrella and bioweapons that when they said the words in the game, it was more like a way to remind the player that, by the way, this is a resident evil game. Even Chris felt slapped in to keep it tied into the franchise. He wasn’t necessary.
I did enjoy the RE4 vibe of the location. The graphics were amazing. On its own, I think it would be a decent game. As a RE game… it just didn’t scratch that resident evil itch.
