The fact I see people give one star reviews because they thought that the story was stupid or that there was a lack of character development. Just makes me sick. Does nobody understand the true meaning behind the long walk, what it represents? i’m only 15 and I do. Let me help spell it out for you.
1. The book represents soldiers going off to war during the Vietnam war. That’s the exact reason why Stephen King wrote it. It’s just young kids who feel like they’re doing something right, they feel like they have to do it but they just don’t fully understand yet.
2. If you completely just watch movies for entertainment purposes only, you have no right to leave a review. not all movies are meant to be action packed. Some are meant to lay out a message for others. And if you don’t understand that message, please do some research about it before you leave a review just because you thought it was boring.
3. Not everything needs an hour explanation on why something is happening. I feel that it’s very obvious why there is the long walk in the first place. They deliberately said in the movie that there was a war before the long walk If you can put the puzzle pieces together, you can tell that the war must’ve ended badly for the Americans. Causing them to turn into a somewhat fascist nation where certain books will get banned and etc..
There’s so much more I can say, but I would rather just have a conversation, but I know that we can’t.
Thank you for your time, have a great day.
