I don't know. They're trying to make an action packed series about inmate firefighters with a dramatic storyline that's also politically correct, but it seems like they're more or less trying too hard to do that; so much that it's not that realistic. I like the concept of the series and I think they're doing it with the right intentions, but I think this is definitely a case of good intentions, not so good execution. I see that they greenlit a second season, and I hope that they can take some time to meet with industry experts and discuss how things would actually work in the real world: a. You don't suddenly come to after having CPR done on you, b. The dialogue is not how real firefighters communicate with each other (they're much less politically correct in their wording, even in California), c. A lot of the medical stuff they have firefighters doing, paramedics aren't even allowed to do, and d. 90% of all the calls that most emergency organizations get are for cats getting stuck in a tree and other BS calls like that, they're not going on a big forest fire every day, or even every week (and those they do go on aren't over in a day, they take a few weeks to put out usually, hence why they need the inmate firefighters in the first place, for the manpower). I get it, it's Hollywood, they can't upset the publi and they have to show something dramatic, but they could've tried to make it just a little more realistic.
