This series is mostly fictional. Although the acting and production is decent. Hollywood does this to over and over again. More so, the true story is more interesting than this fictional version. They do, here and there, include actual facts (for instance his mother dying of tuberculosis). But that’s what I get for watching a Hollywood production on a subject I actually am knowledgeable about. Michael Hirst took plenty of liberties with The Vikings as well, that was much more acceptable as Historians really don’t know that much about, say, Ragnar Lothbrook. Sigh.
