This movie was excellent but not five stars. The original Twister had so much emotion it felt like you were experiencing something rather than observing it. The female character felt like a supporting role rather than the intended star. The "Tornado Rangler" did such a charismatic quality job, that he knocked the little girl off the tetter-todder entirely. Two changes would have made this a five star movie: First an Edward/Jacob love conflict for fans to agonize over; Second more reason to like the female character. She needed to be equal to or more likable then the two male 'supporting' actors. Other than being kind of pretty and kind of smart, there was no reason for either guy to notice or love her, much less the audience. The writer & director might each hold 33% blame for that and not just the actress. That said, it was a good movie but it could have been epic.

I read the book. The movie did not fail in any area; the acting, music, artistic details were all very good. The nuance of what the author intended may have been lost in switching content from book to big screen? The mom was not endearing or sympathetic. She was the misunderstood and often marginalized redemption story hero. Had that aspect been better addressed, this movie would have been ground breaking and important instead of mildly entertaining.

This is the worse movie I have seen since Dogville. It was both (graphicly) disgusting and pointless. The colors, set, costumes, music, and acting were all high quality. Unfortunately the plot, direction, and interpretation of the story were repugnant. Frankenstein meets My Fair Lady in wonderland was the portrail in the previews. The move was disturbingly pronographic without being erotic or remotely sexy. Poor Things...made a flop of a movie that only Hollywood artsy sickos could pretend to enjoy.
