I feel that too many people either gave this movie 1 or 5 stars with no explanation, as an avid fan of the dune books, even the later ones, I was excited to see dune in it's truest incarnation, at least visually, but they've kind of missed the mark in several key points of this adaptation, one of which is the spiritual mystique that was real and ever present in the books, instead filling it with tepid speeches and longing wide shots that labor to carry the lengthy filler in the middle section of this film, denis Villanueva is a good director, if not a tad bit mundane and also at the same time pretentious, he took a holy war story about the coming space Messiah, in a book with hundreds of battles, and somehow made it slow, he also failed to capture the true horror of the harkonnens, baron harkonnen was a cannibalistic pedophile in the book, as well as the evil within the great houses, I could go on, I won't, but now I hear they're making a part 3, so basically dune holy war, I'm patient, and I want to see it, and I hope it fills and elucidates the world frank Herbert took twenty years to build, because somehow they've managed to shrink it down to just a fraction of its true size, although it was supposed to be an epic, it felt more like a sonnet.

Google deleted two of my reviews recently, they claimed it was because of expletives strewn throughout, but only ones that were directed at Disney content, curious, but this show is unwatchable.

As someone who is a former bouncer, and worked with some fantastic coolers who were inspired by Dalton's character from the original roadhouse, I couldn't help but be lost in the terrible and unlikely story of a former ufc fighter becoming a star bouncer/whatever he is, I don't know what to say about this movie, Jake is more American psycho to than roadhouse bouncer, and he has no mentor to ground him, instead opting for modern insatiable drama stemming from the non existent mystery that is supposed to be Dalton, it's pretty bad, couple that with the standard heart tugging scene's of modern movies that serve no purpose other than to show you minority good, white man bad, and the stereotype of the stranger with no name, it hurt to watch honestly, the only good part was conor McGregors over acting, at least he showed some emotion, even if it felt forced. Don't watch this unless you have two hours in the day where all you planned to do was get high and zone out.

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, Kurt/ Wyatt Russell were great, everything else was completely draining to watch, and I mean that seriously, all I have to say is my 70 yo mother in law who loves telenovelas enjoyed this show way more than I did. And just an aside, as a life long Godzilla fan, I genuinely feel less interested and more insulted by this than the 90's Godzilla with Broderick.
