Romcoms are so back! I really enjoyed this film for what it is - a fun cute romcom with some genuine heartfelt moments and laughs that reminded me of the best parts of old school romcoms. Zac efron and Nicole Kidman have real chemistry and Joey King is surprisingly convincing as the bratty but loving daughter. Plus Kathy Bates steals the scenes she's in! This film stands out in terms of writing - not too try-hard gen-z writing when it comes to the younger characters which I appreciated. Overall funny, clever and cosy - especially if you have a soft spot for any of the actors involved.
(Edit - Zac Efron's character has some lines which address his real-life appearance in reference to his facial reconstruction surgery after his accidental injuries which, considering this is his first romantic role after his change of looks, I thought was well handled).
