Show me another game where you can launch an nuke, watch it detonate, then walk around in the mushroom cloud and radioactive debris.
26 years after nuclear bombs dropped, the world is not very hospitable. You will need to learn how to survive in this new world by meeting the locals and building your up your reputation with them.
With human NPCs back in the game this brings new life to the monotony of going into nuke silos and queen killing from the original release. (Hatred)
One thing I was happy about is having a face put to the overseer and I'm not one for PVP so when I actually had to kill a human NPC for the first time in the game, I felt kind of bad for doing it. (Compassion)
The human NPCs can show up in your house to sell you goods or just live there. They walk the roads and give you quests.(Honor)
You can choose to become a part of the raiders or a part of the settler faction where your actions reflect you reputation in both factions. (Valor)
Many of bugs have been ironed out with many updates over the past 2 1/2 years. Sure every now and then you get a hiccup, but a simple server hop corrects issues. One nice thing about it being online is that things are saved instantly so you don't lose any progress. (Patience)
You will also need to learn how to survive because you will get sick from radiation and could die from it. You can die from hunger and thirst. If you ever played Fallout 4 HardCore mode this takes it to the next level. There is no pausing in the game. When you bring up your pip boy during battle, the enemies keep shooting at you.
*Food decays water will need to boiled.
*Your weapons and armor break
*You can craft your own ammo, weapons, armor. food and medicine by finding recipes.
*You can scrap your items for materials needed to create other items.
*You can build your own homestead to craft, grow food, rest your tired bones, or just show off the things you've found in the wastes.
There is so much to see in this game.
Things aren't just randomly placed.
When you enter a house, it's not just any house. Most of items were carefully placed there by the developers. For example any Stephen King fan would know the Torrance manor and the Overlook Cabin names instantly. Just be mindful of the toy blocks, placement of gnomes and teddybears and so many other objects in this game.
The place looks pretty close to the real West Virginia. I visited the WhiteSpings (White Sulphur Springs) and the place looks just like it inside.
