I am writing this review because I just finished playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps (the second game). Ori and the Blind Forest is a game of beautiful art, music and gameplay that immerses you in it's world. If you are someone who likes exploring and visually satisfying scenery I recommend it, however I do believe that Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a thousand times better and the creators really redeemed themselves by creating it. So if you would like to play one of these games, I would play the second one if I were you.
Things I liked in Ori and the Blind Forest:
-The story
-Audio/visual effects
-Organization of Skill wheel
-Some of the skills earned early on.
Things I did not like in Ori and the Blind Forest:
-Fighting is ridiculous and annoying even after you have gained skills and abilities.
-Ability tree is very unorganized and weird, has no cohesion.
-Some Abilities and Skills can be gained AFTER the game is done..WHAT IS THE POINT (I am very angry about this)
-Flow of the gameplay is quite limiting.. If you play it you'll understand.
-Map is very choppy, feels incomplete and to compared to the second game it is much more time consuming even though it's a smaller game and it doesn't zoom out properly. This was a problem for the second game as well however this is absolutely thoughtless.
-Too small, as someone who likes to explore I feel like this was not very exploration oriented.
-Saving is just...just..just...why?? Creators...what were you thinking??
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is in everyway better and I would give it 5 stars.
