I have not read the book so I cannot speak to how well it has been adapted, but I can say that on a technical and writing level it is very good and the electrical effects are believable and often subtle in the best way possible.
Sadly the characters, and the anti-male Patriarchy theory messaging running through this like diarrhoea leve me cold. None of the main characters are all that compelling, add to that the portrayal of men as the usual mix of unfeeling, violent power hungry thugs or straight up idiots with only a handful of exceptions. Has been done to death by Hollywood over the past decade, the smilarities to the COVID-19 pandemic are superficial at best.
So in short, it's the usual feminist Girls rule Boys drool power fantasy story that's been excreted by the entertainment industry since 2010 but with better technical execution than most. If hating men is your thing then watch it, otherwise I will recommend you watch literally anything else 50s B-movie for instance.
