Love the cast individually, however, casting just wasn't right for this. Didn't really feel any chemistry between the 2 main characters. Considering it was supposed to be a love story, the sex scene could have been a bigger part of the film. The effects were cool, it was like a mash up the last of us, silent hill, sleepy hollow and a bit of 80s horror/sci fi; visually fun to watch, defo could be a cool game. Soundtrack was good, was cute that they added a lil chess and drum sesh as a nod to the actors previous work. As for the story, I find it hard to believe that people who work off the books for governments and corporations to assassinate people, have the capacity for empathy and love, and if i were a loan wolf type, I certainly wouldn't be risking my life to save someone else, if my job is killing lol. I dunno just doesn't add up for me. I also don't buy the PTSD. Again, if you are a professional gun for hire, you wouldn't be able to do that job unless you could dissociate and switch off your emotions, if it gave you nightmares you wouldn't be able to do your job, that's my 2 cents anyway lol. And then we have the experiments trying to make super soldiers. I can buy that. However, in the film it's said that these hybrid creatures can think tactically, if that were true, they would all have escaped when both characters were asleep and not manning their posts, figured out a way around the mines, or escaped out through the river system etc. Then we have the boss, who knows that the 2 characters are working together, and knows that they have accessed their computer system which shows you how to detonate the whole site, and yet after she tells one character to kill the other, knowing full well he wouldn't, still turns up in person to a site that she knows they could detonate, and again to a site with 2 highly experienced soldiers that have a massive supply of weapons and are cable of long distance sniper shots. You wouldn't be a boss of a secret operation like that and be that stupid at the same time. So lots of contradictions, the run time was a bit long. If you can switch your brain off to these things then I would just recommend to watch for the effects, definitely the best part of the film.
