According to No Other Land co-director and friend Basel Adra, Hathaleeh was shot in the chest outside a community center in Umm al-Kheir, a village featured in the Oscar-winning documentary. Adra described the act as a "slaughter." The suspect, Yinon Levi, is an Israeli settler previously sanctioned by the UK and EU for attacks on Palestinians.
