First you have to get over this is not, and was not intended, to be a Padre Pio bio picture. There are two stories being told at the same time. One of Pio before his stigmata, battles with Satan etc and one of the lives and people of his village. Once you get over that it’s an enjoyable film. There are some artistic liberties taken and one in particular may offend some Catholics. However, I think the point of this film was to show the power of God to raise powerful Saints through some of the worst time periods in human history. I found it incredibly moving, inspiring and enjoyable.
