Polarizing, for sure! The first 30 minutes of the movie, with the big party and day of shooting after, was aiming to communicate decadence and self-indulgence - and it certainly came across as those things! It may be the most self-indulgent piece of cinema I have ever seen. And for a three hour movie, it sure leaves a lot of open loops! Need more information about Nellie's relationships with her parents, or what happened afterwards with the Toby Maguire gangster? And what happened to Fay Zhu? Anyway, I liked it, but watched it in two sittings.
