We can talk about high quality of acting, which was great from all the main characters. We can talk about setting of the mood and atmosphere of the urban living, which was was great from the cinematography point of view. But you can also look at the whole overtone of the movie and setting of the axes and parameters, and you may wonder why they focused on this darkness. White disfunctional family, check. Loving gay family, check. Alcoholic father, histerical mother, check, check. Corrupt NYPD, check. Evil rich people, check. Honest and wonderful poor people, check. It's getting so predictable and boring, and it takes points from overall hight quaility of the series. I wish the authors didn't draw their resourcefulness from their ideology, but not sure it's possible.
