Not my cup of tea,
1. Shot in 4:3 ratio b/w to begin with - so setting the era and mood, but unlike movies made in the era it was super HD b/w which was definitely not the style of the era. If they wanted to be authentic with the old b/w era films they should have softened the image. On our big screen TV the wrinkly skin and blemishes were a distraction.
2. Racy early 40’s dialogue also in vogue during the era with everyone constantly smoking was another distraction.
3. Could have used some of his better compositions.
Not for me but love his music and will maybe get his bio to read.
