This was the very first film of the franchise that in fact, I have the DVD of it. If you're wondering what happened to Chick Hicks afterwards, he was still able to race in the piston cup against Lightning McQueen in the 2006 season after Strip The King Weathers retired & formed alliances with other bad cars as seen in the film's video game.

I've always love TUGS espically Thomas. In my younger years, I never ever heard of it before, I was just appeal to Theodore Tugboat until when I my early days on youtube.
