I was so amazed at the way 100-year-old footage was restored and utilized in this film. Peter Jackson does an incredibly job taking you on a journey through the life of the average soldier in the First World War. The only narration throughout the film is real veteran voice-overs which gives the film such a sense of authenticity. Stay until after the credits if you can! There is a 1/2 hour explanation of how the footage was used and restored, and how Peter Jackson went to some pretty great lengths to ensure the film was faithful to the truth of the historical event.
