Am a huge fan of the books......was willing to roll with some changes.....but, the Charmaine and Jack storyline is too much. Hated that they made Jack into a total tool with that. In the book, Charmaine is older than Jack with adult children and no one in Virgin River even knows who she is because Jack goes to see her at her bar and they don't go out together.......it is a purely sexual relationship. Oh, and he always uses protection. This is supposed to be the story of Jack and Mel, and while they have drama in they books it doesn't involve other people to that degree. And apparently it wasn't enough that Mark got killed in a convenience store robbery, you added a stillborn baby and changed how he died to create "guilt" for Mel. Then made her sister have marital problems rather than just visiting because of the one year anniversary of Marks death, that was needed why? Where was Mels breakdown by the tree.....that was a pivital moment in the book?Paige being made into a fugitive and Preacher is nothing like the character in the book. And who the heck is Brady? Is this supposed to represent Shady Brady? I guess that story from the books is gone. Will not be watching Netflix ruin some of my favorite books with unnecessary extra drama. It is disappointing that the author allowed her characters and story to be changed this much just to get them on tv.
