I wanted to enjoy this show, I really did, but it's just so boring compared to the previous star wars shows. The writing, not the cast, is to blame. You're told, not shown, alot of backstory so the character development I enjoy isn't really there.
Visually, it looked pretty good especially the establishing shots of cities, but it was hard for me to stay engaged with the otherwise boring plot
I had no preconceived negative notions about this show. In fact, The Acolyte concept hooked me the most of any of these announced newer star wars shows. I just didnt like it.
Take note of those who are giving the show 5 Star reviews seemingly out of spite toward others who didn't like it. That's silly and immature. If you love the show, cool, but don't 5 star OR 1 star blindly to spite someone or bring politics into it when they did not factor in at all. "Ex 'you'll like it as long as you aren't anti woke'." Um, NO, I straight up thought the writing was clunky, Venestra's actress was the one cast member who was unbearably bad, and the entire plot is boring/slow moving. No politics, no woke issues, nada. Look out for those who pretend to like things just to annoy others, that's the side of review "bombing" nobody mentions. If your view is "you'll like this and if you don't you're a ____" then frankly you're intellectually and emotionally stunted.
This show isn't being review bombed, it's just not good and some cannot accept that most of the audience feels that way.
