Look, the scenery in this movie is stunning and it IS very well shot + composed, but the storyline is a mess. I understand wanting to set up a big 2 part western epic by packing in different characters and storylines, but this is overkill. They jump between so many it makes Game Of Thrones feel easy to follow, except you feel close to nothing toward any of the characters and feel no sense of an overall plot. It's a bit too slice of life and even that style doesn't work because of the constant character switching. This would've been a solid 3 or 4 except for the horrible ending montage that left many of us in the theater literally scratching out heads. It felt so lazy, like they ran out of time making the movie or weren't willing to cut bloat out of the middle in exchange for an actual non-montage setup for part 2. I get that it's essentially a "next time on Horizon: An American Saga" type trailer montage but it comes out of nowhere

I wanted to enjoy this show, I really did, but it's just so boring compared to the previous star wars shows. The writing, not the cast, is to blame. You're told, not shown, alot of backstory so the character development I enjoy isn't really there. Visually, it looked pretty good especially the establishing shots of cities, but it was hard for me to stay engaged with the otherwise boring plot I had no preconceived negative notions about this show. In fact, The Acolyte concept hooked me the most of any of these announced newer star wars shows. I just didnt like it. Take note of those who are giving the show 5 Star reviews seemingly out of spite toward others who didn't like it. That's silly and immature. If you love the show, cool, but don't 5 star OR 1 star blindly to spite someone or bring politics into it when they did not factor in at all. "Ex 'you'll like it as long as you aren't anti woke'." Um, NO, I straight up thought the writing was clunky, Venestra's actress was the one cast member who was unbearably bad, and the entire plot is boring/slow moving. No politics, no woke issues, nada. Look out for those who pretend to like things just to annoy others, that's the side of review "bombing" nobody mentions. If your view is "you'll like this and if you don't you're a ____" then frankly you're intellectually and emotionally stunted. This show isn't being review bombed, it's just not good and some cannot accept that most of the audience feels that way.

This lacks all of the charm of the original Peter Pan and the plot pacing feels very off. For starters, the kid playing Peter Pan really isn't a strong lead actor and many of his lines sounded monotone to me. Dude has ZERO and I mean zero chemistry with the other kids, especially Wendy. Jude Law was very good as Hook and Jim Gaffigan should've been great as Smee, but his performance was very forgettable. What really threw me off was the visual depiction of Neverland, which in this version is....a bunch of grassy, rocky cliffs overlooking the ocean. They're the exact same cliffs used in the later Harry Potter movies and nothing about that filming location screams Neverland. It just looks and feels wrong, which goes for the rest of the movie too . I'm a kid at heart and thought I would really enjoy Peter Pan & Wendy, but it's just an all-around lackluster movie with some very strange creative choices. Can't stress enough just how off Neverland looks. It's not even remotely interesting or visually appealing, it's just the same overused UK sea cliffs filming location with 80% rocks.

Thought this was just a Seth McFarlane Star Trek knock off. Boy was I wrong! First off, no matter what shows you like, you should know this one has strong character building, worldbuilding, solid (enough) production value, and a beautiful orchestral soundtrack. If any of those aspects appeal to you, watch it! Episodes are funny, have a surprising amount of heart, and are largely, though not exclusively, self contained. This is a great show in its own right and is at least worth your time to try watching the first few episodes. You'll probably find yourself pleasantly surprised like me.
