I saw Badla last week and the initial one and half hour of the movie is okay because it feels like there are many dialogues between Amrita Singh, Tanveer Ghani and Tapsee Pannu in different scenarios in which they meet. Especially when Amrita has an unnecessary banter with Tanveer is awkward. In the end when the truth is known to Tapsee that Amitabh Bachchan who plays the role of the lawyer is actually the murdered son's father (Tanveer Ghani), what I ponder for a long time is for a person who has a poor dialogue delivery when he meets Luke to fix the car, how could he speak fluently like Amitabh for the 2 hours in the film!! Questions like these do ruin the experience, the movie had to deliver. Tapsee who plays the lead role in the film doesn't do much justice to the role because I feel she is only shouting throughout the movie when it is not necessary, while speaking with her lawyer. A thriller movie based on a crime should never have any loopholes that the audience can figure out or question, it should make them feel certain emotions when watching it, which this movie does not deliver. In order to feel better I watched The Invisible Guest, the movie based on which Badla is remade and honestly, the Spanish movie is much better. I had higher expectations from the movie Badla as it was directed by Sujoy Ghosh but it fell short of my expectations.
