Honestly, this is the one and only review I have ever written, and i assure you it is very necessary to save a lot of people a lot of time.
The staff were clearly hired for the drama in the show (which i can understand), however what i cannot understand is hiring two blatant narcissists who have, on multiple occasions gotten in other members of staffโs faces (especially in the womenโs) to intimidate them and then the failure to protect the staff that were affected. I fully agree that this was specifically done for the entertainment of the viewers, however, i think it was vile to watch, especially due to the lack of punishment of these egotistical, self-absorbed, emotional muppets.
In a lot of these reality shows, which i do indulge in, there is usually a line in which the cast do not cross otherwise the production get involved, this did not seem to be the case as on episode one there was almost a fight between the lead server (who was drunk) and the female bartender.
This show in no way reflects the hospitality industry, it was clear that this โexperimentโ was unethical with staff, such as Telly, approaching Vanderpump, who was meant to be her boss, informing her over the disgusting behaviour her manager had been subjecting her to, along with other staff members, and Vanderpump brushing it off as a lesson in strength. What utter rubbish!
Despite all of this, I can understand that the majority of you reading this review will not care about the ideas that the show is promoting, such as the brushing off of abuse of the staff from management, however if you want to save your brain from turning into pure mush from the mind-numbing, uninteresting drama, do not watch it!
Within the first two episodes, some of the biggest dramas was one of the girls who had a problem with another girl slouching on the sofa (what a crime!!), and the next big drama was over a burnt croissant. I cannot explain to you how these things were blown up so out of proportion that it was painfully apparent that it was egged on by production.
The only justifiable reason is to hate-watch it, but it even fails at that at times as it is so hard to watch due to the boredom and the curated drama that it makes you want to go outside, touch grass and dig a hole.
