Drew seems like a genuinely nice person and clearly, she’s a well established and excellent actress. What doesn’t seem to be working is being a talk show host. Exaggerated overtures towards guests, incessant playing with her hair, staring at and screaming at the camera are all way too much. I seriously have a hard time believing that there’s enough of a fan base to sustain this show. Again, I really like Drew Barrymore. The ingratiating and banal nature of her talk show is a separate issue entirely from whether or not she’s a likable person. This venue for Drew is just not a good match.
