It’s been 25 years since I earnestly watched this movie outside of the theater premiere. My wife had never seen the prequels, so I thought, why not? Maybe, I won’t be as critical of it now that my Jedi wisdom has had time to develop. Surprisingly, it was better than I remember. Not good, but not terrible, a solid 2.5. Having all this time to discover the background, dissect fan theories, read the many different novels, canon vs non-canon, I really enjoyed a new perspective and discussion about the whole series. It was just fun now! Sure, Jar-Jar is still a moron, but I love to speak in his voice whenever I need a laugh, the fight with Maul is still Epic, R2 saves the Galaxy just by bypassing a power coupling, and it does what Star Wars always does- bring great characters and adventures to enjoy over and over. MTFBWY…Always.
