Captain America: Brave New World โ A Brutal Review from a Man Who Remembers When Heroes Had Weight
Let me be real: this movie was lame and awesome at the same timeโand thatโs worse than just being bad. It tried to be deep, political, diverse, and powerfulโbut ended up a confused mess dressed up in symbolism and CGI.
What Was Awesome?
Red Hulk showing up? Super cool. That transformation finally gave the film some fire.
Isaiah Bradleyโthe real Black Captain Americaโhad presence. Built like a brick shed, moved like a veteran. No wings, no speechesโjust discipline and violence. Shouldโve been the focus from day one.
The Opening Fight โ Peak Delusion
Sam fighting a mountain-sized white dude in the first act? Not buying it. Heโs flapping around with wings like a cyber pigeon, throwing soft punches at a concrete truck. Marvel plays it like he holds his own. Real life? Thatโs a stretcher scene.
The Wings and Shield Combo?
Yeahโit was gay. In the literal, effeminate, overly performative way.
Bright, flaring chrome wings. Clean flips. Shield twirling like heโs doing interpretive dance. That wasnโt masculine. That wasnโt powerful. That was off-Broadway Avenger energy.
No scars. No fear. No weight.
Captain America should feel like a hammer. This felt like a parade float in a flight suit.
Sam Ainโt No Apollo. No Dillon. No Mac.
You want presence?
Apollo Creed โ charisma and muscle.
Dillon (Predator) โ Carl Weathers, black ops killer.
Mac (Predator) โ Bill Duke, poetic and lethal.
Sam? Heโs a motivational speaker in tech gear.
Representation? Learn from Billy Sole.
They shove that โI never saw a hero like meโ PR line. But you want real representation?
Billy Sole in Predator. Native American. Said almost nothing. Cut his chest, stood tall, and died like a warrior. No tears, no speechesโjust honor. Thatโs what boys remember.
The Tiny Woman Terminator
And noโIโm not even gonna go deep on the short, barely attractive woman protecting the President who somehow beats the living hell out of 15 grown men with her bare hands. No armor. No mech. No muscle. Just Marvel fantasy physics and bad writing.
You want a real woman hero? Go watch Ripley in Aliens.
She suits up. Fights smart. Looks like a woman, moves like a survivor.
And bonus? Sheโs a lookerโwith zero try-hard energy.
Just grit and intelligence wrapped in female strength. Thatโs respect. Not this PR nonsense.
Harrison Ford as Ross?
He looked tired. Shouldโve kept William Hurt, but letโs be honestโMarvel wouldโve ruined him too. Theyโd have him crying about his daughter Becky or Rhonda or some made-up grief. Pass.
Final Word
This movie had flashes of greatnessโRed Hulk, Isaiahโbut most of it was agenda-wrapped fluff. Sam never earned the shield. And no kidโs looking up to this version of Captain America.
My son wonโt be watching this. Heโs getting Predator, Rocky, Commando, and Aliensโback when men bled, women stood tall, and nobody needed a hashtag to matter.
Cool visuals. Strong fragments. But built on a soft foundation.
