Frankly, it was boring. The primary enjoyment I got from it was making fun of it with my younger brother. And there was plenty given to make fun of.
The movie was awful for a number of reasons. The plot was convoluted and hard to follow, and simply difficult to invest in and boring. It was a scrapped tv show and it shows with all the extra characters who were overly stereotypical and lacking in personality or character development. Somehow the animation looks worse in the sequel than the original despite how much later it was made with what felt like worse lighting and emptier sets. Furthermore the environments were frequently overly bright and saturated, sooner opting for bright stimulating colors than thought out scenery. The jokes were rehashed and would really only be funny to children who donโt know any better. The character conflicts with Maui and Moana were almost identical to in the first movie but done worse. The songs werenโt memorable in the slightest and tried too hard to be similar to the songs in the first movie. There were multiple instances where the logic of the world building was broken. And finally, the pacing was completely screwed up with so many scenes being fast paced, dry action, leaving me feeling none of the emotions the different scenes intended to invoke.
