Nicholson is superb. As one who dated a cop for many years and now has a famous father-in-law detective, this movie makes you wonder about the psychological tole that evil plays in their psyche. Law enforcement officers, first responders, service men and women, all are affected after witnessing humanities' atrocities decade after decade, it leaves an imprint and each person is affected differently. Like they say, "some cases never leave you". Nicholson shows this perfectly. Great cast, great directing by Penn, thought provoking...

Loved the show. Why is no one discussing the "other side" ? My mum was a nurse in London and my mother-in-law was a nurse in Kentucky. Both have discussed seeing things over the decades of saving lives. Eternal Life, reincarnation, ghosts, passing back and forth...very interesting.
