It's an odd one. When I started playing this I was very much feeling disappointed. Some of those disappointments still exists now after 40 odd hours.
Firstly, the NPCs look dated, I mean very dated for the console it's on. That in its self I found frustrating given the power of the series x and PCs. The textures seems pretty low quality too, which again feels like a cop out. Given the amount of loading screens I just can't help but think low textures and low NPC quality has nothing to do with the scope of the game.
Nothing is seamless either. Getting from point A to point B is pretty ridiculous and took some time to get efficient at doing. Even with shortcuts you spend far too much time in menu's.
This isn't the game I was expecting, nor the game they could have delivered.
So, that said, I'm still playing...It could be that I haven't got BG3 to play, or maybe that it gets better, but it's difficult to tell.
This game should have been leaps and bounds forward from Fallout and Skyrim, but it's just not. I liked those games which is why I'm still playing and i suspect those which loved those games think this is an amazing game, because it's the same.
My biggest concern now is ES6 and what they're planning with that.
If you've already got games pass you're not losing out and it is an entertaining game at times. Just don't go in to it thinking its going to be a huge improvement on previous games.
