Stayed in New Year’s eve and streamed a Netflix movie so we could avoid freezing weather while waiting for midnight. We chose Long Shot (2019) because it stars Charlize Theron along with Seth Rogan. Amazed at how funny and yet real about politics and adult romance the story is. Too good to call another romcom. Would watch it again to catch every line.

Pain Hustlers is entertaining and informational, kept us adults interested all the way through. Emily Blunt is well cast as the star—a talented pharm rep (read: hustler)who has less formal education but more common sense than most of her bosses. Message for us is that big pharma is quite a bit about obscene profits, much less about human kindness.

Funny and sweet story about a deadly dementia bringing down an aging comedy writer (Billy Crystal) as he befriends a talented singer (Tiffany Haddish). We liked the story up to its schmaltzy end which avoids showing the really devastating aspects of dementia as it swallows up a person. Crystal and Haddish are great.
