Go watch!!!! it even if you don't have played the game. I had watched the entire story of cyberpunk 2077 and the gameplay also. Snapping back to the show. From the first episode the series showed the real potential, The character arcs, design, color palate, everything visual it's the most top of the anime scene. I had heard the name and knew it was good, had watched the thoery video by Matpat from game theory (on his show on film theory when it released) came back to it after so much time. I just finished it today. *Spoilers ahead* First episode David's mom dies after leaving him with the knowledge of a lifetime, he even though had gone with many things is still a 17 year old boy and such a big loss I understand why he went the route. The quote by lucy was so true, "You are not remembered by you lived night city but by how you die." eventhough she never wanted him to die. The shocks came after her mom dies, Rebecca's bro was not a big loss and he died for nothing and Maine's death was inevitable by the foreshadowing done in prior episodes but still his death delivered a shock. Then the very next episode we see David is all buffed up by "chrome" aka cybernetics and handles the mantle of responsibility too early, I know this was intentionally to show that David become the head were quick. Nice details. We were not given a single episode to rest the show was DENSE, Every episode there is more and more content. It would have been a very great addition if we got like 2 more episodes and in between got more of the romance and chemistry between lucy and David The first episodes before maine's death were good but afterwards they felt rushed but not too rushed (CDPR moment) the dense nature was very good TBH as like the bungie said "They follow the 5 minute rule for engagement" (Bungie is the OG dev studio behind halo game series). Props to the Trigger studio, i know some of there works but here they pushed the limits, In That studio they make everything they do with love and so much passion NOT A SINGLE PERSON HAD BEEN DOING IT AS A JOB but as A PASSION PROJECT and when love and passion is poured into somethings it's bound to be one of the best. IF this just had a different ending like that David's cybernetics gets broken and he finds himself at the hospital for even doc in a comma and after waking goes and surprises Lucy that he is alive and they both go to the moon. This show is the best one I watched till now. The ending broke me. I also recommend you to go watch the official music video of the ending theme song behind every episode if want the name it's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners — Ending Theme | Let You Down by Dawid Podsiadło. It's a cannon video and tells about the netrunner before lucy you can also find maine there. it will also break you pls go watch it. Final thoughts: The visuals 10/10 all so vibrant and so good, The story 110/10 The Story of David with Lucy, the love of Rebecca even though she knew that only Lucy will be able to save David and Falco was such a good character, he should have been there from the start. David's Love for his mom to the last moment shown by when he went to the top of Arasaka and said that "mom I have made it to the top of Arasaka" just heart touching and this all made it so good of a story. Thanks. Music is a 10/10, Everything just feels so good. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has set the gold standard for anime from me and most of you know. I thank you from my heart for making such a good show. Thanks again to CDPR & Trigger. THiS is not a show it's A MASTERPIECE.
