Edited to add: THEY MADE THE MOVIE ABOUT LOCUSTS. ITS A DINOSAUR MOVIE…FOCUSING ON LOCUSTS??? I have to say I was very disappointed. I watched my first Jurassic park movie at 5 years old and have watched all movies on repeat for almost 25 years. The Jurassic Park/World movie really are their own genre so they had limitless plots available. I went into the theatre thinking it was going to be similar to the 2nd Jurassic Park, where the trex is loose in the town. They could have ran with the idea of dinosaurs roaming the earth in this new movie and that would have been amazing. I thought it was a very poor choice to have the main point about the girl. The first half of the movie was extremely boring as they were focusing on her being kidnapped, it didn’t feel like a dinosaur movie. It finally started getting interesting about an hour in, and still, it was all very flat and the film didn’t give me any emotion. There was not any “edge of my seat” vibes happening at all. The ONLY cool part about the movie that I did love is that in some dark scenes they made the dinosaurs look scarier, almost more horror movie like, which was pretty cool. I would have loved to see more of that. I’m a die hard Jurassic fan and always will be but I’m so disappointed in this movie it’s sad. **Also would like to add that towards the end during the main dino fight, they did Dr Grant dirty! When they had a still frame on him saying “this is badass”…. That is not Dr Grants personality at all.
