With so much potential for an iconic American comic heroine in this genre, it was rife with blase plot movement, trite predictable dialogues, an awful overuse of superhero tropes, and an utterly lackluster and painfully forced performance by Gal Gadot that made me wonder why I had chosen to watch this movie and thankfully most of it is just a blur and forgotten except for the bad aftertaste.

Best movie of the decade that restored my faith in exceptional filmmaking. It's an audacious achievement by Director Chloe Zhao who ventures into content and territory usually foreign to the modern-day film-watching audience with delicate precision and artistry. She draws cathartic performances out of the characters who are both simple in their external texture as they are deeply dimensional in their humanity and far more original than what Hollywood otherwise produces with their vast budgets. A must-watch for film lovers and a crown jewel achievement in filmmaking by a promising Director still relatively early in her career.

It's too bad Google reviews do not allow half stars. Animal defies logic in how a movie so incoherent and incohesive can do so well at the box office. It moves like being dragged around aimlessly by the whims of a talentless director and embarrassment to the art of filmmaking. The only modicum of satisfaction is expressing a few lines of discontentment on this review but there is perhaps no silver lining to retrieving the 3 painful hours spent watching this hilarious swill.

An unfocused and disastrous attempt to capture elements of war. The story arc goes nowhere, the characters lack any sense of consistency with some of the worst disconnected dialogues. It's too bad the talent of the actors on this roster was laid to waste like the superfluous body count. Tragically, this movie is misleadingly rated highly, and yet I am glad it wasn't as abysmally dismal as David Ayer's other works.

One of the best Coen Brothers films to date and one of the most flawless films of all time - should be studied in film school and by 95% of all directors in Hollywood. The theme is constructed and articulated by delivering each scene with detail and perfection. While each cast member gives their best performance, Javier Bardem indubitably takes the crown by delivering one of the most haunting villains to walk the screen in modern cinema. It's an epic expose of human tragedy that unfolds with desperate aspirations, compromises, and false perceptions of the unyielding and indiscriminate forces of life. Each watch reveals another missed nuance and subtleties layered in otherwise minimalist dialogue. Bravo to the Coen Brothers for respecting film audiences by demonstrating the superiority of their craft and delivering us a masterpiece.

How a star cast manages to be involved in a movie this illogical, void of a sensible plot flow, and lazy performance is almost an enigma. But the realization that Sam Esmail's movies sit in the range of 40s and 80s on the Tomatometer starts to make this tragic output more understandable and in this case, if it wasn't for Mahershala Ali's performance, it would be sitting at zero. Both Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke fail to deliver anything of substance here, thanks to Sam Esmail's lapse of creative competence for anything artistic or meaningful.
