The BBC has a long history of brilliant sitcoms: Fawlty Towers, Dads Army, Yes Minister, Porridge and The Thick of It being wonderful examples.
Then they commission Mrs Brown's Boys, a series completely devoid of anything intelligent or funny, unless you have the intellect of an amoeba.
The plots are completely one dimensional, the scripts awful. Awful puns, pathetic toilet humour, pointless swearing: it's the sort of thing an 8 year old would write.
If Father Ted was the Everest of Irish comedy (as it was), Mrs Brown's Boys plumbs the depths of the Mariana trench.
Avoid like the plague.
