A solid concept, serviceable performances, and effective visuals and atmosphere are all undermined by a rather weak script and a directorial fear to maintain a consistent tension within singular scenes. The movie sometimes got lost in its own thesis to the point where it forgot to develop its characters naturally. Instead you’re given a few scattered scenes with photographs and unfortunately ham fisted bits of exposition.
