Hi. I'm from Lagos Nigeria. I started watching The Rookie Series a few weeks back and stayed glued till the very last episode. Very Great Series. A great deal has been said by other reviewers, so I'll leave out the great stuff and make a few notes: 1. Officer Lucy Chen started off same day with Officer Nolan. But as of season 5, Nolan had 2 Stripes on his arm (corporal), while female Lucy Chen didn't even have a single stripe. They both passed their TO and UC exams, they both faced same risks. But Nolan got 2 Stripes, Lucy, none. 2. Female Officer Nyler Harper started off with 2 Stripes (Corporal), same with officer Tim Bradford. From season 4 to 5, male officer Tim Bradford was promoted to Sergeant (3 stripes) and later to the same rank as the Watch Commander (one stripe under the sergeant stripes), while female officer Nyler Harper remained on the same rank. Despite being exposed to the same risks and also having being given a Golden Ticket based on exemplary Service to the force. There was also no mention of Angela Lopez being promoted in rank all through, which means if she we're to put on a uniform, she most likely would still be a corporal. After all those years. It gives the impression that the force Favours men over the women in terms of progression in rank. 3. When the Watch Commander and Sergeant Tim Bradford were both in the hospital, the chain of command fell on Smithy. I LOVE Smithy's role though. Adds a lot of fun to it. But the Watch Commander and Tom Bradford didn't have any faith in him, and asked Lucy Chen to take over. Lucy Chen was less than 4 years in the force and the Watch Commander couldn't trust even Nyler Harper to run his station??? That showed me that the Watch Commander is a sort of a slacker also. It's a great movie. The great parts have been said already. No need repeating them. I await the next episodes or seasons. Also, please let other officers in the movie do a little bit more talking during raids. I saw Nolan during his Rookie days lead an assault team into a raid. I almost cried. It all doesn't have to be about just these actors. Even Lucy Chen was telling Smithy what to do in one of the episodes. I held my head when I watched that part.
