Not horribly bad, but bad. AI that is remarkably human…interesting. Yet AI that is remarkably unintelligent predicting none of the opponents moves no matter how predictable. Asia still a white man’s vision of the romantic third world, yet with futuristic cities and spaceports amongst the rice paddies and water buffalo. A super cool all-seeing, death raining nuclear powered floating ship city that can be everywhere at once 🤔 gives itself away by being visible from hundreds of miles away and has a scanning device like an ultra large disco laser …. Hmm 🤔; and which nobody seems to want to try and attach or run away from despite imminent death missile raining. And only one world government apparently… you guessed it, America.

So many layers. A film that leads you down paths only to flip each destination on its head, again and again; while, all the time, building the underlying characters in depth and breadth. Loneliness, loss, love, bias, human weakness, redemption all explored and revealed and gently coaxed to full understanding and appreciation. Parents will come away better parents. Lovers will love better. Lost sons and daughters will find their voices here. The lonely will feel connected. Magic stuff.
