Nic Williams – Google

For those that didn't like or understand the movie, you must realize it's a sequel. It's not meant to be a standalone movie. If you never watched Gundam Seed or Gundam Seed Destiny (or read the Manga), obviously you wouldn't know who these characters are, or the history between Earth and the Plants (space citizens). Do your homework before trashing an amazing series. Gundam in general is one of the most beloved anime series of all time. It's been around for decades. Within Gundam, Seed is probably the most popular and best series. I named my daughter Kiera (spelled differently bc she's a girl) after the main character. That's how much of a fan I am! This was easily one of my favorite movies of all time. I don't mean just animated movies, but movies in general. Whenever I saw a cameo of the characters from the previous series (Alexander Waltfeld, The Desert Tiger, for example), I was really excited to see them included and still fighting the good fight. I only wish this was a full series, and now just a 2 hour movie. Oh, and the English dub was bad. That's to be expected with anime, though. I always watch movies or series in the original language, so I just had to find one in Japanese (was t available on Netflix yet), and that resolved the language issues. This movie continued the story amazingly, built on well established and beloved chatlracters, and even introduced some new skills. Glad to see Lacus level up, and I love the relationship between her and Kira. He became the Ultimate Coordinator because of her!

First two seasons were pretty interesting. It had a unique story, some good actors, funny moments. It was a good bit of entertainment in the beginning. Third season started to get a bit weird, but this final fourth season is just trash. It doesn't even make sense. Was it written by some AI that just parsed together a bunch of random variables? There definitely wasn't any real "intelligence" behind this script. The CGI was horrible as well. I have a theory as to the real life parallels they were trying to suggest with this "purge" and that whole crazy cult. At any rate, why does this keep happening with shows lately? So sad!

I love superhero movies, especially Marvel. Also, to be clear, I have a ton of patience. Typically even if I'm not particularly enjoying a movie, I'll at least try to see it through to the end. In contrast, my wife will just go to bed. That said, if this wasn't free on streaming, I would have stopped watching it almost immediately. The beginning was incredibly boring. The singing planet and the crew-eating cats scenes were so cringe-worthy, I had to fast forward through so many sections. The writing was so bad, my young children could have done better. Some of the acting was horrible as well. Brie Larson is good. That's probably why the original Captain Marvel was a huge hit. Was that really "Fury"? It certainly didn't look or sound anything like him. It was like a watered down, castrated, Minney Mouse version of him. Maybe they should have called him "Furry" instead. Oh, and the niece just happened to get similar powers to Carol Danvers? Wow, it's like the writers weren't even trying. Not to mention all the cheesy VFX. Blaming "Superhero fatigue" is just lazy, trying to shift the blame from the glaring issues of this movie. One final note, we get it, there haven't been as many female superhero movies in the past. People aren't going to watch them just because they have an all-female hero (and villain) cast, the film still needs to be well done!
